Cafe & Gift Shop

Open 7 days a week 10am to 5pm

The former Women’s Rural Institute Hall which sits adjacent to the historic Loudoun Hill Inn re-opened on 30th June 2010 as a café, gift shop, gallery, tourist information point & heritage centre. The new visitor centre has transformed the former hall into a quality gateway for visitors entering the Irvine Valley, in East Ayrshire.

The café area not only offers the usual array of home bakes, soups and snacks but provides visitors with spectacular views of the iconic Loudoun Hill.

The gift shop sells Scottish gifts, with as many as possible sourced locally. Towards the end of the gift shop is a gallery area that offers local artists, of any medium, a free to use gallery to promote their work.

The heritage area within the hall gives visitors a flavour of the fantastic local history that has shaped Scotland’s history, with the much documented battles for independence.  Topics displayed include the battles at Loudoun Hill and Drumclog, Alexander Fleming who was born locally, and the lace industry within the Irvine Valley.

Visitors will be able to pick up information on local visitor attractions to hopefully encourage them to make an extra visit within the area during their stay.
